The position of a place relative to the places around it.
Relative location is like giving directions to your friend using landmarks. For example, you might say "my house is next to the big red barn, just past the grocery store."
Landmark: An object or feature of a landscape or town that is easily seen and recognized from a distance, especially one that enables someone to establish their location.
Region: An area defined by certain similar characteristics. Those unifying traits can be physical, natural, human, or cultural.
Directionality: Refers to how direction is communicated in relation to space; for instance 'upstream', 'downstream', 'inland' and 'seaward'.
