Latitude refers to geographic coordinates that specify north-south position relative to the equator on Earth’s surface.
Imagine you're playing Battleship - your game board is Earth and your ships are locations. Latitude would be like rows in this game; they help you pinpoint exactly where something is in relation to everything else vertically.
Degrees: These are units used to measure geographical coordinates such as latitude and longitude.
Hemisphere: Half sphere shaped part of Earth divided by equators or meridians into Northern-Southern or Eastern-Western Hemispheres respectively.
Poles: The two points at extreme ends along axis through which Earth rotates i.e., North Pole and South Pole
