The United Nations is an international organization founded in 1945 after World War II. It aims to maintain global peace and security, promote human rights, foster social and economic development, protect the environment, and provide humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict.
Think of the UN as a global high school where each country is a student. Just like how students have to follow rules set by the school administration to maintain order and harmony, countries in the UN must adhere to its principles for maintaining world peace.
General Assembly: This is like the whole-school assembly where all member states (countries) have equal representation.
Security Council: This is similar to a group of prefects or student council members who are responsible for maintaining discipline (in this case, international peace and security).
Secretary-General: This person acts like the principal or headmaster of our global high school - they oversee operations and work towards achieving the goals of the UN.
