The massacre of Armenians refers to the mass killings and deportations targeting Armenian subjects (and citizens) within the Ottoman Empire during World War I which resulted in 1.5 million deaths often considered as Genocide.
Imagine a school where all the students with red hair are suddenly targeted, expelled, or even worse, harmed. This is similar to what happened during the massacre of Armenians but on a much larger and devastating scale.
Ottoman Empire: A state that controlled much of Southeast Europe, Western Asia and North Africa between the 14th and early 20th centuries.
Genocide: The deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular ethnic or national group.
World War I: A major global conflict taking place primarily in Europe from 1914 to 1918.
