FDR was the 32nd President of United States (1933-1945) who led America during a time of worldwide economic depression and total war. He's best known for his New Deal program that aimed to stabilize the economy and provide jobs & relief to those who were suffering.
Think of FDR as a football coach during a losing game. The team (America) is down, morale is low, but he comes up with new strategies (New Deal) that help turn things around.
New Deal: This is like an innovative playbook designed by Coach FDR. It included programs, public work projects, financial reforms & regulations enacted in response to Great Depression.
Pearl Harbor Attack: This event marked turning point where our football game turned into an all-out brawl (World War II). After Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, US officially entered World War II under FDR's leadership.
Four Freedoms: These are like four key principles or goals Coach FDR set for his team - freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want & freedom from fear. They were outlined in his 1941 State of Union address as fundamental freedoms everyone in world should enjoy.
