The Allied invasions during World War II were military operations conducted by the Allies against Axis powers. These invasions played a crucial role in liberating countries occupied by Germany, Italy, and Japan.
Think of the Allied invasions like a coordinated effort to clean up a messy room. Each person (or country) has their own area to tidy up (or invade), but they're all working together towards the same goal - a clean room (or liberated countries).
D-Day: This was one of the most significant Allied invasions that took place on June 6, 1944. It involved over 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landing on five beaches along a heavily fortified coast in Normandy, France.
Operation Overlord: This is the codename for Battle of Normandy where D-Day invasion happened. It marked the beginning of the end of World War II in Europe.
Invasion of Sicily: Also known as Operation Husky, this was another major campaign where Allies took control over island of Sicily from Axis powers in 1943.
