龙舟节, also known as the Dragon Boat Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday that takes place on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. It commemorates the life and death of Qu Yuan, a famous poet and statesman.
龙舟比赛 (lóngzhōu bǐsài): This term refers to dragon boat races that are held during 龙舟节. Teams paddle in long narrow boats decorated like dragons to compete against each other.
屈原 (Qū Yuán): 屈原 was an ancient Chinese poet and politician who lived during the Warring States period. He is honored during 龙舟节 for his patriotism and contributions to Chinese literature.
粽子 (zòngzi): These are sticky rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves that are traditionally eaten during 龙舟节. They can be filled with various ingredients such as meat, beans, or nuts.
